Short Breaks to Barcelona FAQ

We are not playing favorites, and we are strong believers that there just can’t be a universal answer to questions like that. Both cities are amazing destionations for a weekend break and have so much to offer to a passionate traveler. After all, the the question of “better” is always subjective, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and we advise you to visit both of these remarkable Spanish cities and decide for yourself.

Absolutely, a 3-day weekend break in Barcelona is a fantastic idea. This time is enough for you to visit all the must-see sights, get a feel of the city, get a taste of its nighlife (if it’s your thing, of course), and to start wishing that you would never have to leave.

While there are no wrong choices, there are some things you should keep in mind before planning your Barcelona city break. Traditionally, summer is the peak of a tourist season, and the city is swarming with travelers from all over the world. As a result, the hotels are overbooked, prices are inflated, and sights are overcrowded. Such things can be a downer, so why not consider going from late September till early October or from late April till early May instead? The weather is nice and warm, but these seasons are just out of the tourist season, so you can avoid a few pitfalls that come with it. And if you are traveling on a budget, consider taking a short trip to Barcelona in February, as this month is the most budget-friendly time to visit the stunning city.

Even if you don’t know Spanish, you should have no problems getting around the city. Barcelona welcomes thousands of tourists every year, and most sights and places popular among tourists are very friendly to the English speakers.

Yes, but there are a few conditions you need to keep in mind. The every-sunday rule works only from April until October 31st, and even during that period, you can enjoy a free entrance to this incredible place only from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The dream city boasts a wide public transport network, making it very easy to get around on your Barcelona getaway. However, it’s free only for Barcelona City Pass holders.
