Day 1
Arrival & Offbeat Rome Tour
Welcome to Rome, the stunning capital of Italy, and the city boasting unparalleled cultural and historical heritage. A private driver will be waiting for your arrival at the airport/train station to take you to the downtown hotel for check-in.
After a short break to catch your breath after the journey, you have something exciting planned! Rome is a multifaceted city with much to offer those who want to venture off the beaten tropes. We’ve prepared a few interesting options for you to consider.
Option 1: Tour of Garbatella District
Garabatella is not a place you are likely to find in the lists of must-visit places in Rome. It is home to award-winning architecture, secret gardens, authentic Italian churches, and incredible examples of Roman street art. Garbatella is a must-visit place for anyone who wants to see a different side of Rome and enjoy a truly authentic experience.
Option 2: Rione VI Parione Tour
While Rione VI Parione might not seem like a very off-the-beaten-path destination there is much more to it than meets the eye. There are plenty of fantastic places that go under the radar of most travelers. Let a friendly local lead you take you on a less-traveled path to show you authentic Rome.
Option 3: Dark Side of Rome
Find out the city’s darkest secrets and see the place of the assassination of Julius Ceasar, walk through one of the oldest neighborhoods of Rome with a historically dubious reputation, stop by the residence of a serial poisoner haunting the city in the 17th century, visit an ancient wine fountain, and learn about popes gone wild – the occasions that the Vatican would prefer everyone to forget about.
Option 4: Wine Tasting at a Small Family Winery
A local sommelier will take you to a charming family-owned winery on the outskirts of Rome, where you will get a chance to walk through the grapes plantations, taking in the stunning views and listening to a fascinating story of the place. The visit ends with a tasting when you will be offered to try three different types of wines, including the sparkling wine – the winery’s pride.

ROME TRAVEL TIPS
– Without a doubt, Rome is one of the most amazing cities in Europe, but it’s also second the most pickpocketed one. So be constantly vigilant, especially when visiting popular tourist attractions. Never get your bag out of sight or leave it hanging on a chair in a restaurant.
– Italians take food very seriously, and dining is a ritual to be savored. Don’t be surprised that dinner starts late, and finding a restaurant that opens before 7 – 7.30 pm might be quite a challenge, and the busiest time for diners around the country is around 8-9 pm.
– Make sure to take your drinking bottle with you. Rome is home not only to spectacular water features such as the Trevi Fountain but also to hundreds of drink fountains scattered around the city where you can easily refill your bottle (saving some money and taking care of the environment).
