Venice Weekend Breaks

There is no arguing that Venice is one of the most beautiful destinations in the world

Venice Getaways

The unique architecture put the Floating City on the map long ago, and the popularity of Venice getaways keeps growing with every passing year. Every day hundreds of people come to the one-of-a-kind capital of the Veneto region to enjoy a ride on a famous gondola and explore the city’s gems. The charming city has a lot to offer, and we are proud to present out weekend breaks to Venice,  designed to show you the best of the City of Canals in just a few days.

A charming old street in Venice

Venice Weekend Trip FAQ

Absolutely! Venice is one of the best destinations to consider for a weekend getaway, as the city is quite small compared to Rome, Florence, or Naples, making it much easier to explore its must-sees in a span of just a few days.

A two-night stay is a great option to consider. As mentioned above, Venice is not a big city, and three days are more than enough to see its main sights and even have some time to explore the city at your own pace.

As always, when it comes to Italy, we advise considering late spring or early autumn for your getaway. The weather conditions are excellent, but the tourist crowds are nowhere near as dense as they are in the summer. Keep in mind that while February is usually one of the cheapest months for planning an Italy city break, that’s not true when it comes to Venice. At this time, the city hosts its most famous carnival, so if you are planning to attend, make sure to book far in advance.

Historic Cannaregio is one of our favorite neighborhoods to stay in Venice, as it’s not only centrally located, making it very easy to get around, houses the main train station, and is also one of the most authentic areas of the city. However, any of the six central neighborhoods would make an excellent choice for your Venice city break.

Not at all. On the contrary, Paris is one of the most expensive travel destinations in Europe. A getaway to Venice will cost you on average 50% less than a weekend break to Paris of similar criteria.

Yes, you can enter the famous basilica free of charge, but you will need to buy tickets if you want to visit the museum, treasury, and Pala d’Oro.
