Family Weekend Trip Q&A

Let’s be honest: traveling with a small children is hardly a breath and can potentially be very stressful. However, if you do your research and plan carefully, you can reduce the chances of something going very wrong to a minimum. When organizing family getaways, we work exclusively with family-friendly hotels and pick activities specifically designed with little travelers’ stamina in mind to ensure the best possible experience for your family.

Overall, kids between one and three years old are considered more difficult to travel with, as they are no longer stationary, insatiably curious, and often not very good at following instructions just yet, which means that any situation can get out of control very quickly. As you can imagine, constant vigilance is not exactly compatible with a relaxing getaway, so be prepared that getting around with toddlers demands extra attention and even more planning than usual.

Usually, kids 10–12 years old are the easiest to travel with. They are already self-sufficient enough not to need much extra attention, have bigger stanina and longer attention span which allows them to participate in and enjoy most of the adult experiences like hiking or a cooking class, and are still driven by curiosity and desire to explore, making them truly excellent travel companions.

As always we don’t play favourites, as the answer is simply a matter of personal preferences. Someone might see a custom family getaway to Madrid as an excellent option, while someone else is more excited about 3-day hike to Machu Picchu with a 1-year-old in a sling. But if you tell us what you idea of a perfect family break is, we will be happy to suggest a destination that will work with your travel plans.

Sure! Traveling with children to Europe is no more dangerous than traveling with friends or a partner. As long as you follow the basic safety guidelines, such as avoiding hitchhiking, traveling at night, and always keeping an eye on your kids and your belongings, everything should be alright.
